Curated to the best of my ability for being actual news and not mainstream media propaganda machines.

cleveland.com – Ohio local and national news

religionnews.com – Religion News Service (RNS). Independent, nonprofit professional journalism reporting on global news on religion, spirituality, culture and ethics. This initiative aims to provide balanced, nuanced coverage of major world religions, with an emphasis on explaining religious practices and principles behind current events and cultural movements.

bostonglobe.com – The Boston Globe. This is the one I subscribe to now, after the New York Times and the Washington Post fell.

inquirer.com – The Philadelphia Inquirer. Mostly local news but independently owned by a journalism nonprofit and the largest newspaper in America operated as a public-benefit corporation

resilience.org – Resilience.org aims to support building community resilience in a world of multiple emerging challenges: the depletion of critical resources, complex environmental crises, and social and economic issues. News and articles on dealing with current events, along with a focus on ecosystems management, disaster preparedness, and even community planning.
